Historic District Attractions, Part 2
There are endless historic district attractions in St. Augustine. While it may be a small town, there is plenty of action. There’s no way to see it all in a week.
Getting Around
The trolley system is a great option for seeing the most, fastest. Simply pick the trolley you like most, ride it for a full lap, then decide what appealed to you the most. There are trolley stations at The Old Jail, and Ripley’s Believe it or Not, among numerous other places.
Guided tours, much like the Trolleys, come in many sizes in St. Augustine. We have boat tours, walking tours, hearse tours, segway tours, and a few more. Haunted tours are a big hit at night, and allow you to see a different side of the nations oldest city.
St. George Street
Walking down St. George Street will find you plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops, along with some fun attractions. Lunch at the St. George Tavern, an Ice Cream at The Hyppo, a visit to the Old Schoolhouse St Augustine Fl, some music at Local Heroes Downtown, and dinner at Columbia Restaurant or the Prohibition Kitchen.
Since you’re in the heart of the downtown, take a visit to the Old Drug Store, St. Augustine, Fl, and Potter’s Wax Museum. Potters has been a St. Augustine favorite for more than 50 years with incredible wax statues. Wolfs Museum of Mystery is nearby, and you’ll definitely want to see that. You can get a bit more upscale by heading over to the Lightner Museum, located inside the Alcazar Hotel building.
At the other end of St. George street, take a tour of The Cathedral Basilica of St.Augustine. Visit the St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum, or just walk along the bay front past the Castillo.
