When you’re not sunning yourself on the poolside deck--or surfing in the ocean, or searching for shells on the beach--you can relax on the expansive 2nd-story balcony and gaze out at the Atlantic, looking for dolphins and whales beyond the surf. Or maybe you’ll want to keep cool beneath one of the ceiling fans of the 1st-floor porch. The rhythmic murmur of the waves is guaranteed to relax you.

In fact, the interior of Peace of Paradise was designed with relaxation top of mind. The house has not 1 but 2 spacious living rooms, one on each floor. This, along with the wealth of bedrooms (1 with a king-size bed, 3 with queen-size beds, and a 5th with bunk beds), makes the home well suited for multiple families or couples vacationing together: There’s plenty of space for everyone to do his or her own thing as well as for the whole group to gather together.

Both living rooms are decorated in soft hues, with a wealth of wonderfully comfortable seating, plus a TV and board games in each--boredom won’t be an issue when you stay here! Go ahead, sprawl out on a sofa and treat yourself to a well-deserved midday nap. One of the sofas in the upper-level living room opens into a bed for 2, should you have unexpected overnight guests.

The upper-level dining table easily seats 6; there’s room for another 4 at the adjacent breakfast bar, not to mention a table and chairs on the deck for alfresco dining. A cozy breakfast nook on the 1st floor is just the spot for an intimate meal for 2.

Whether you plan to cook three meals a day for a crowd or simply mix milkshakes and margaritas in the blender, you’ll love the open, fully equipped kitchen. Stainless-steel appliances, cookware and prep tools galore, plenty of tableware: The kitchen has it all. That includes generous storage space; you can stock up on groceries at the beginning of your stay and not have to waste additional vacation time at the supermarket!

The bedrooms and bathrooms are as roomy, comfortable, and lovingly furnished as the rest of the house. The master suite is particularly fabulous: Not only does it open onto its own private balcony, but it also has in its en-suite bath a Jacuzzi next to a one-way mirror, so that you can look out at the ocean as you soak without anyone else being able to see in.

By the way, Peace of Paradise has a 2nd jetted tub. That’s right: 2 Jacuzzis—talk about luxurious! Among its many other amenities are an air-hockey table, 2 conveniently located powder rooms, and a washer and dryer. And let’s not forget the deck and sitting room by the front of the house: Admire the sunrise over the ocean while sitting on the back balcony, then take in the sunset from the front deck. When we designed and built this house in 1970, it was a labor of love. The house is unique, an equilateral triangle on wood piling down to bedrock. Built like a sturdy pier, it is safe and has weathered hurricanes.

The kitchen is generously stocked, has upgraded stainless appliances and lots of counter space. There's a large pantry to tuck away groceries, all the kitchen gadgets you could possibly need and even an electric citrus juicer for fresh orange juice in the morning. Set off the road behind the dunes, it's a quiet and safe place for the kids to play, with the beach just steps away via a wooden dune walkover. And you'll never get tired of the views, from the sunrise over the Atlantic to the sunsets along the Intracoastal Waterway!

The wraparound deck is the first thing you'll fall in love with at Crescent Cove. Spanning two sides of the house, it is the perfect place to sunbathe, stargaze, and simply decompress, watching the waves and inhaling that bracing sea breeze! With plenty of room for the whole group and guests to spare, it's the heart of Crescent Cove.

Just indoors from the deck is the living room, with a high ceiling, big sectional sofa that seats everybody, and long windows looking out toward the sea. During the day it's the perfect indoor/outdoor room, with so much light and such beautiful views that it's almost like a second deck. At night, it's cozy and welcoming, with spotlighting and a cozy atmosphere. The fireplace add to the ambiance, however, it is not for use.

Adjacent to the living area is a long, elegant dining table, with space for everyone. What a pleasure to dine within sight of the ocean, with the whole group gathered around! This wide open area of the house is a great place for games, too, from an all-night poker marathon to a friendly round of Pictionary!

The kitchen and breakfast nook are just beyond the dining area, and you will love these spaces. Our kitchen is completely stocked with all the dishes, cookware, and utensils your big group needs to cook and serve just about anything, up to and including Thanksgiving dinner! All you add is groceries; we've got all the major and minor appliances and time-savers that will get you out of the kitchen and back on the beach in no time flat. And you'll enjoy working in our kitchen, with a central island and big windows over the counter.

The breakfast nook is right next to yet another door out to the deck. A small table makes the ideal workstation for your laptop (you have free wireless Internet at Crescent Cove), and is the perfect place to enjoy that early-morning cup of coffee before the rest of the gang wakes up. It's also makes a great "children's table" for formal occasions!

There is also plenty to keep the group occupied at Crescent Cove after a busy day at the beach or the Intracoastal Waterway. We have several TVs, all with cable, as well as a VCR, DVD player, and stereo system. No more fights about what to watch -- there are enough screens to go around here!

And speaking of enough to go around, you will love the spacious sleeping quarters at Crescent Cove. We have 5 bedrooms and 4 full baths, so there's room for everyone. Fort Matanzas State Park can provide a nice little adventure, with a free boat ride from the National Park Service over to the island fort. If you’re looking for a little more in your vacation, downtown historic district St. Augustine is just a few minutes to the north. You can take in the larger fort, Castillo de San Marcos, or an event at Francis Field. From the cottage, you are just a short drive over the bridge into the historic district of St. Augustine. You will be amazed at the charm and history of the oldest city in the United States. You can take a trolley tour and visit the Fountain of Youth, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Castillo de San Marcos, or even the St. Augustine Lighthouse. Stroll down St. George Street in the historic district for some great shopping and dining experiences.

North Beach in Vilano is near Ponte Vedra Beach making this an ideal location to stay for golf vacations. Ponte Vedra is home to the famous TPC Sawgrass and The Players Championship Golf tournament, part of the PGA tour, which takes place each May. You will also find several local golf courses at the World Golf Village offering the most avid golfer a challenging game.
